A bit about meI graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Studies and a Professional Writing for Civic Engagement Minor. My studies have given me a broad range of experience in writing for environmental issues. My senior year, I completed an internship as a Marketing and Communications Assistant at Community Environmental Council (CEC) and continued to work for CEC after graduation, until I left California to travel.
I moved to New Zealand and found my way into hospitality management. A company offered me sponsorship and an opportunity to try something I had never done before, so I decided to pursue this path for a while. When the big 2020 pandemic hit, I weighed my chances and decided to stay in New Zealand, which gave me the opportunity to open and run a venue through a challenging time in which there were little to no tourists in a town that thrived on tourism. The years I spent in New Zealand gave me many great skillsets for managing staff, interacting professionally with government bodies, and problem solving under pressure, to name a few. I am now looking at transferring my skills back to a non-profit or environmental field and exploring opportunities that are available. |
